Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat are your shipping rates?Canadian Orders: All packages are shipped using Canada Post Expedited Parcel service within Canada and include parcel tracking and insurance. We offer $8.95 flat rate shipping* on most orders within Canada. Please note that taxes (HST/GST) are applicable on total order including shipping costs. *Large, bulky items including Tummy Tub, Kuddle Ring breastfeeding pillows, Keekaroo High Chairs and oversized/heavy orders will be charged exact shipping. Products exempt from free shipping charges include furniture, mattresses and large, oversized or bulky/heavy orders (over 5 kg/10 lbs). Furniture and mattresses are larger than maximum dimensions for Canada Post shipping and will require other arrangements including courier or moving companies. Please contact us for a shipping quote. How long does it take for my order to arrive?Orders are packed and shipped within two business days of placement under normal conditions. We ship all orders via Canada Post Expedited parcel service, delivery times will vary on your proximity relative to our retail location at 2571 Robie Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, orders should be received within 2-7 days within Canada. A Note About PackagingWe recycle boxes and packing material. When you receive your order from us, it will be in a previously-mailed box and may also contain recycled bubble wrap or other packing material. We encourage you to reuse the packaging as well wherever possible, and if not possible, please recycle! What are my payment options?We accept the following payment options for Canadian customers:

To whom should I write the cheque?Please make the cheque payable to Nurtured Products for Parenting. I would like to buy Nursery Furniture, but it is not listed on your website.We keep a large selection of items in stock, however, our nursery furniture and mattresses are custom order and available through our retail store only. For any custom order items, we will require a 50% non-refundable deposit. PLEASE NOTE: Furniture and mattresses are larger than maximum dimensions for Canada Post shipping and will require other arrangements including courier or moving companies. Pick ups are always welcomed! Crib mattresses can fit in most family vehicles, however, cribs and dressers will require alternate arrangements. Please contact us for a shipping quote. What is your buying policy?Nurtured strives to provide safe, natural, and environmentally sustainable products for our families and yours. When selecting products to stock in our store, we first look locally, provincially, and nationally before going abroad. Preference is given to companies that use organically grown products (cotton, herbs, skin care ingredients) and to companies that use recycled material and/or packaging and/or are powered by renewable energy sources. We work with a number of very small businesses - in some cases only one person, to provide our customers with unique products not found everywhere else. We do not take items on consignment. No product containing PVC or melamine is sold in our store or on our website. Plastic products are kept to a minimum. In the event that plastic cannot be avoided, preference is given to polypropylene (PP #5), a very stable plastic not known to leach toxins or silicone, a plastic derived from silicon, a naturally occurring mineral (it is not hydrocarbon-based as other plastics are). Skin care products must not contain parabens or other known estrogen-mimicking chemicals, all skin care products should contain ingredients generally regarded as safe and all products will have been checked against the Environmental Working Group Skin Deep database for potential risks. All baby carrier and diaper manufacturers are required to carry liability insurance in an amount concurrent with the industry norm. What currency are your prices listed in?All prices are listed in Canadian dollars. If you are ordering internationally, your credit card company will automatically convert your purchase from Canadian dollars to your local currency. Please check with your bank for current exchange rates as they change daily. Also be aware that your credit card company may charge a transaction fee for purchases made in foreign currency. You should review your credit card agreement and make yourself aware of any additional charges you may incur. Do I have to pay tax?By law we must charge taxes. All orders placed in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador will be subject to 13% HST. All other Canadian orders are subject to 5% GST. Taxes do not apply to gift certificates. International orders do not have taxes applied. Be aware, however, that you are responsible for any duties and freight charges beyond our shipping fees. Can I see any of the products in person?Absolutely. We have a retail store at 2571 Robie Street in Halifax, NS. Hours of operation are 10-5 Monday-Wednesday, 10-8 Thursdsay, Friday and 10-5 Saturday. Our staff would be happy to show you any of our products and answer any questions you may have. We also offer cloth diapering and babywearing workshops at our location. What if I change my mind or want to cancel my order?When your order is placed you will receive e-mail confirmation that your order is being processed. All orders canceled after confirmation is sent are subject to a 10% restocking fee. This is due to inventory having been located, pulled, packed, and funds captured. If you require changes to your order, please contact us as soon as possible. If your order has shipped, your order must be processed as a return. What is your return policy?All orders requiring a return or exchange require prior approval by Nurtured Products for Parenting. We reserve the right to refuse delivery of any packages that do not have prior approval. We require the following information to process an exchange/return:
Please note that we strive to provide you with on-going support to help you select the products most appropriate for your family. Please feel free to ask as many questions as needed before placing your order to help ensure you are totally happy with your purchase. If you are not, we offer a 14-day period for refunds (minus the original shipping charge) from the day you receive your order as confirmed by Canada Post tracking. After 14 days and no later than 30 days after your purchase, we offer exchanges for in-store credit. After 30 days, all sales are final. Sale and clearance items are final sale. Return shipping to Nurtured Products for Parenting for all returns are non-refundable and are the responsibility of the customer with the exception of goods received by the customer not matching those ordered. All returned or exchanged products must be in new, unwashed, unused condition with tags or packaging attached, if applicable. Used, soiled, washed or unpackaged products will not be accepted for exchanges or returns. Payments made using a credit card will be returned via credit card. In store purchases made by cash or debit will be refunded in cash. All other returns will be processed by cheque. Please allow 10 business days following receipt of your return/exchange for processing of your refund. What if there’s a product defect?In the unlikely event your product has a defect, this will generally be handled directly by the manufacturer. Most manufacturers are more than happy to replace snaps and perform repairs on their products. If you require assistance with handling a defect in your order, please contact us for further instructions. The customer is responsible for shipping the defective product to the manufacturer. Can I combine discount codes?No. Only one discount code is applicable per transaction. Do you offer local pick up?Yes, orders may be placed on line for pick up at our retail location, 2571 Robie Street, Halifax. How long do I have to pick up my order?We will normally hold your hold your order for 10 business days. Do you have a buyback program?We currently do not have a buyback program as we have found that most parents have found other uses for their diapers: they will save them for subsequent children, pass them on to friends or relatives. |
